Peek Behind the Scenes

Republic of glares shot by //d. for A City Like Ours

Crew working behind the scenes of a location shoot for “Republic of Doyle” – Becks Cove Road

Lastnight I was on the way down to check out the new St. John’s location of “Freak Lunchbox”, when we came across an outdoor location shoot for Republic of Doyle. This is a shot of some of the crew that work behind the scenes to bring us the show.

One of their spotters was standing next to me while I was shooting. He held his earpeice for a second and then said to me “I am supposed to tell you to stop taking photos”.

I appreciate what ROD and the CBC are doing for the presence of the city in their productions, I am actually a big fan of both Republic of Doyle and all aspects of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. But during a break in filming, I DO NOT appreciate being told that I cant photograph on a public street.

I respect what you do, please respect what I do.

  1. Huh, if they don’t want onlookers taking pics in a public area let me suggest to them that they film everything in a sound stage.
